FedPoint Receives Federal Commendation for Its Efforts to Hire Veterans

Portsmouth, NH (November 17, 2020)—FedPoint® was presented with the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award by the U.S. Department of Labor for its efforts in hiring and retaining veterans in the workplace.

This is the second year FedPoint—which administers large-scale insurance and benefits programs for the federal and uniformed service markets—was awarded with the HIRE Vets medallion, the only federal-level veterans' employment award that recognizes a company or organization's commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development. Recipients were recognized via an online ceremony on November 10.

Speaking at the ceremony was U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia who noted that each year roughly 200,000 American men and women transition from military to civilian life.

"The organizations we recognize today are helping these men and women find careers where they apply the skills and leadership they gain through their service in the armed forces," Scalia said.

FedPoint joins companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, that have shown a commitment not only to hiring veterans, but also to ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

"It is a privilege to be recognized and honored by the Department of Labor for our work to hire and retain veterans," said FedPoint CEO Paul Forte. "The nearly 10 percent of our workforce that are veterans bring invaluable life experience, skills, and leadership to the table. And they give the same commitment and dedication to the success and growth of our company as they did serving our country."
