Portsmouth, NH (July 7, 2025)—Federal benefits administrator and marketplace operator FedPoint® is pleased to announce that its CIO, Michael Crones, was recognized as a finalist for the 2025 BostonCIO ORBIE Awards. The Boston CIO ORBIE Awards are the premier technology executive recognition program in New England, honoring CIOs who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.

“It is a privilege to be included among the top technology leaders in New England for this award,” Crones said. “Congratulations to my fellow finalists and to the 2025 winners. Together, we are striving to drive digital transformation and consistently deliver value for our companies and our customers.”

At FedPoint, embracing innovative technology to meet business needs is paramount, Crones said. “As a federal contractor, given the massive scale of the benefits programs we administer and the stringent federal requirements for security and privacy we have to comply with, we need to be agile and ensure we are adopting and applying technologies that not only improve efficiencies but also ensure we are delivering world-class experiences to our clients and customers.”

The BostonCIO ORBIE Awards celebration was held June 6 at the Westin Boston Seaport. CIOs were nominated and recognized in multiple categories, based on the size and scope of their organization and responsibilities. Crones was recognized as a finalist in the Corporate category.

Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer-adjudicated process led by prior ORBIE recipients based on leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, and engagement in industry and community endeavors.

“Congratulations to Michael on being named a finalist for a BostonCIO ORBIE,” said FedPoint CEO Kevin Hill. “The recognition is a testament to Michael’s efforts to foster a service-oriented culture and his commitment to aligning our information services and technology team with our business objectives.”

“The contribution you are making to your companies is what will enable them and future proof them,” remarked Jim Chilton, vice chair of BostonCIO at the awards ceremony. “You are now part of a community of CIOs who make a difference.”
