LTC Partners Employees Recognized with Annual Titus Award for Innovation

Portsmouth, NH: LTC Partners once again awarded its annual Frank D. Titus Award to standout employees who exemplified the award's spirit of innovation.

The Titus Award was established by LTC Partners in 2013 to recognize innovative ideas and the execution of initiatives that have contributed to contract retention, revenue growth, operations efficiency, quality improvements, security, customer service, risk management, issue resolution, and other critical functions.

For 2018, both individual and team awards were handed out.

The individual award recognized Joyce Kazilionis, Senior Manager, Claims and Coordination, for her ingenuity in developing a more efficient benefit eligibility and care coordination process for the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP). In addition to streamlining how calls were managed from policyholders initiating a claim, the process also enhanced interdepartmental communication between the Customer Service and Care Coordination departments, translating into better claimant/customer experience and higher levels of efficiency for the care coordinators, care coordination support team members, and customer service representatives.

"I have observed firsthand and am able to appreciate Joyce's hard work for the development of this innovation, resultant efficiencies, and increased satisfaction experienced by the claimants," said Marilyn Staff, Director of Care Coordination, who nominated Kazilionis for the award.

The team award recognized a cross-functional collaboration among employees who, together, created a microsite for a newly eligible uniformed services population. This microsite was developed to be a central, online resource to assist all TRICARE-eligible personnel with the transition from the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) to the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) by providing regularly updated information—including eligibility guidelines, plan choices, and enrollment details—that would enable informed decisions and action on BENEFEDS.com during and after the 2018 Federal Benefits Open Season.

Team award recipients were: Jeff Corbit, Senior Business Analyst; Tim Cullity, Manager, Marketing Communications; David Gonzalez, Manager, Digital Platforms; Greg MacNeil, UX and Interface Designer; Sarah Johnson, Senior Writer and Editor; Jennifer Miller, Manager, Marketing Systems and Controls; Phani Reddy, Infosys; Sarah Richards Duchemin, Senior Online Content Administrator; Ali Shah, Web Data Analyst; and Andrew Zarbo, UX and Interface Designer.

According to the project sponsors: "These individuals stepped up, worked together tirelessly, and navigated the ever-changing, stressful environment that comes with such a monumental initiative in such a short period of time."

The Titus Award is named for Frank D. Titus (1947–2012), a senior contracting officer at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management who was the first contracting officer for the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP), the visionary behind the creation of the BENEFEDS platform, and an instrumental force in the introduction and/or restructuring of numerous federal benefit programs.

"Our goal is to promote and inspire innovative thinking and collaboration among our employees," said CEO Paul Forte. "The Titus Award is a way to encourage our employees to take initiative, to look beyond the status quo, and to discover ways in which we can all work smarter and more efficiently while contributing toward the success of the company."
