LTC Partners Recognized Nationally and Locally for Sustained Commitment to Hiring Veterans
Portsmouth, NH: LTC Partners received commendations this past November at both the state and federal level for its strong commitment to veterans causes. Both honors praised the company's efforts to hire veterans and to support service members' transition to the civilian workforce following military service.
Headquartered in Portsmouth, NH, LTC Partners administers the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP), the group long term care insurance program for the federal family. LTC Partners also built and manages BENEFEDS, a secure, online platform that enables eligible members to enroll in the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). The FLTCIP and FEDVIP are both sponsored by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
At the federal level, LTC Partners awarded with the 2019 HIRE Vets Medallion Award by the U.S. Department of Labor. The HIRE Vets Act was established in 2017 to recognize employer efforts to recruit, employ, and retain veterans. The HIRE medallion is the only federal-level veterans' employment award that recognizes a company or organization's commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development. Recipients were notified in October of the award and recognized at a ceremony on November 6 in Washington, D.C.
LTC Partners also received a proclamation by New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu recognizing the company as being one of the state's first businesses to meet a number of benchmarks for hiring and supporting veterans. The proclamation acknowledged LTC Partners efforts to hire veterans, host veteran job fairs, hold regular veteran-employee luncheons, as well as its year-round support of numerous veteran organizations and service groups.
"I am pleased to see our efforts to support and work with our service members being recognized at the state and national level," said LTC Partners CEO Paul Forte. "Of our close to 400 employees, nearly 10 percent are veterans, and they are excellent employees. I am proud to work with this group, who served our country and are now helping to build this fast-growing company. We will continue our commitment to support our military, veterans, and their families, who deserve our support and our gratitude."
To be considered for the award, applicant companies must demonstrate that they have achieved concrete results for the veteran community, including hiring and retaining veterans and providing leadership training and tuition assistance opportunities, among other criteria. LTC Partners was one of only five companies in New Hampshire to receive the 2019 HIRE Vets medallion.
