FedPoint Appears on Military Makeover
Operation Career

Portsmouth, NH (May 13, 2021)—FedPoint® was featured on a segment of Military Makeover Operation Career, a nationally syndicated show hosted by highly decorated Navy veteran Montel Williams. The segment highlighted FedPoint's commitment to hiring veterans.

The segment, subtitled "Operation Career: Career Opportunities for Our Veterans Transitioning to the Civilian Workplace," highlights companies that offer opportunities, education, and training to uniformed service members transitioning out of the military and looking for careers in the private workforce. Air dates are May 14 and May 20 on Lifetime TV. The segment will also air on the global Armed Forces TV Network (AFN) and other media outlets.

FedPoint's pedigree as a veteran-friendly company is already well-known throughout New Hampshire and beyond. The federal contractor provides ongoing corporate giving and volunteer support for numerous military organizations, including Veterans Count and the neighboring 157th New Hampshire Air National Guard. FedPoint's support of veterans seeking to transition to the civilian workforce post-service has earned the company special plaudits over the years, including a proclamation from New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu in 2019 and HIRE Vets Medallion Awards from the U.S. Department of Labor in 2019 and 2020.

Nearly 10% of FedPoint's current 400-plus employees are past or present service members, but its support in this area goes further still. The company hosted career fairs in 2017 and 2018 specifically geared to connecting veterans and uniformed service members to regional employers and agencies. It is also a sponsor and charter member of the New Hampshire Military Coaching Alliance, a program aimed at helping military retirees transition into the workplace by pairing transitioning veterans with private-sector CEOs and other business leaders who serve as mentors.

FedPoint also acts as a service provider for more than one million members of the military community who are enrollees in the federal benefit programs it administers, which include the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP) and Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). Both programs are open to select uniformed service members and their families, as well as the active and retired federal civilian workforce.

FedPoint's Military Makeover Operation Career segment was taped at the company's headquarters on Pease International Tradeport and other locations around greater Portsmouth, and it includes interviews with several veterans among the company's staff, including Defense Agencies Account Manager Richard Hartley (U.S. Coast Guard), Team Leader of Claims Processing Paul Evans (U.S. Air Force), and Team Leader of Claims Administration Marcy Ghirardi (U.S. Army).

"Our company being profiled on the 'Operation Career' episode is an honor," said FedPoint CEO Paul Forte, who also appears in the segment. "Hopefully the segment conveys that we employ those who serve—not only because it's the right thing to do, but also because it's a smart business decision. Our employees with military backgrounds bring a sense of mission, an ability to operate under pressure, and strong leadership skills to the table. They are exceptional team members. What company wouldn't benefit from these attributes?"
